The New Haven anthem! 🙂
My son wrote this completely in his head while we were shopping in Stop & Shop yesterday after Podcamp. I heard him humming it and mumbling lyrics while we were walking through the isles. When we got home he immediately started playing the complete song. I heard him in the basement so I went down and asked him to play it again. I recorded this is with my phone: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JRjfdGTSyjs
NEW HAVEN, CT – October 12, 2010. The first PodCamp CT will take place Saturday, October 16, 2010, from 8AM to 5PM, at the Cooperative Arts & Humanities Magnet School in downtown New Haven and will bring the nationally-known PodCamp event to the state for the first time. Tickets are open to anyone and are $25 for the one-day event and can be purchased online: http://podcampct.org.
PodCamp CT is the one-day “unconference” that brings social media technology enthusiasts from all walks of life together to share ideas and make new connections. For the Connecticut event, the theme is “Connecting Where We Live, Learn, Work and Play.” The organizers are enticing those beyond the inner circle of social media to get fresh voices discussing the phenomenon.
“Podcamp is finally debuting in Connecticut and we’re looking to bring together leaders in business, politics, nonprofit, education,
technology, the arts, and more – all on equal footing. The goal is 100 percent focus on having progressive conversations and making new connections about all things CT and the social web,” said Andre Yap,
CFO and Founder, Ripple 100, and Co-Organizer of PodCamp CT.
“This event is not just for geeks. We need a mix of seasoned users and those just starting out. Boston, New York and the West coast may be considered the hot spots for social media but not anymore. Connecticut
is right on their tails,” said Joe Cascio, a self-employed software engineering consultant and PodCamp CT Co-Organizer.
The event is unusual because it takes an “unconference” approach, by not permitting sales pitches or speakers. The content of the conference is created by the attendees who share experience and expertise and raise questions for others to help solve.
The first PodCamp was held September 8-10, 2006 in Boston, Massachusetts and are now being held worldwide. More information on PodCamps can be found at:http://podcamp.pbworks.com/

Watch us climb through a hole in the wall to then squish oranges on the floor while someone types on an old fashioned typewriter in the corner. Gotta see it to believe it! http://qik.ly/C3jKU
